“Tako Assistant” is an Action on Google designed by Akira Kondo 近藤昭, a retired train engineer and kite maker who lives in Toyokawa City in Aichi prefecture. This Action is a recommendation engine that combines real time wind data with inventory of Akira’s kites to suggest the best location to fly his kites. This simple Action is currently tailored for flying kites, but the code can be adapted for any hobby that relies on wind, weather, or location data.
Tako Assistant was made as part of the Engawa collaboration with older adults in Japan and was developed by Jun Masuda/Mash Studios.

「凧アシスタント」は、愛知県豊川市在住で凧作りが趣味の元鉄道エンジニア、近藤昭さんがデザインした Action on Google です。リアルタイムの風速情報と、昭さんの凧の種類を組み合わせて、どの凧をどこで飛ばすのが良いかを教えてくれる Action です。現在は、凧あげ用に作られていますが、風速や天候、位置情報に関わるすべての趣味に応用できます。
「凧アシスタント」は、高齢ユーザーとのコラボレーションによるEngawa プロジェクトの一環として、Jun Masuda/Mash Studios がシステム開発を担当しました。
