Explore an archeological site in Augmented Reality
Collection:
Technology supports heritage in the exhibit “Eternal Sites”, hosted at the Grand Palais in Paris. In collaboration with Iconem, the Google Arts & Culture Lab developed an augmented reality experience for "Eternal Sites" using Tango devices. Visitors can explore a famous part of Palmyra in 3D, before and after its recent destruction, through the visualisation of 3D models and animations in augmented reality. In addition to this experience, a virtual exhibit on Google Arts & Culture traces the history of this endangered treasure as well as others in Syria (The Great Mosque of Damascus & Krak Des Chevaliers) and Iraq (Khorsabad).
