Cardboard Solar System

December 2014 | By Tim Samshuijzen

An AR/VR Solar System for Google Cardboard. This experiment uses your phone's camera (using getUserMedia) and Three.js to create an AR experience. View this experiment through Google Cardboard to see the Solar System's planets orbiting in your environment. If your phone's browser does not allow/support accessing the camera (or if you deny permission) then the solar system is shown in a black background environment. Note: The relative sizes of the planets and moons sizes are not correct (some are exaggeratedly huge), and neither are the relative orbit and rotation periods. This is purposely done so that you can easily see and follow the planets.
