KineMan focuses on realistic human skeletal joint motions, by adding scientifically-derived joint kinematics (axes & motion ranges) to 3D bone geometry. Customized sliders control 1 degree of freedom motions, or you can drag across the canvas, for 2DOF motion. When dragging, the cursor input –to- joint response behavior changes with the view, to provide an intuitive sense of control. One special capability is to control a group of joints with a single control. After you click on the skull, you can move the entire neck, in 3 DOF. Another special feature is a nonlinear kinematic constraint, computed in ‘real time’, to maintain the shoulder blade a fixed distance from the ribs.
